Today we are going to start at verse 6. Verses 6 and 7 goes together, however, we may not get to verse 7 today.
Let's start.
Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
The first thing we see is that it says, "another angel". So if it is another angel, where did the first, or the forerunning angel, come from? Let's look at Revelation 10.
10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:
10:2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
10:3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.
10:4 And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
10:5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
10:6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
10:7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
10:8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
10:9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10:10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.
Pay attention to verse 11, where it says, "Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings".
Here is a commentary on the same topic.
"With the sixth verse of chapter fourteen begins a view of the last work of the Gospel in the earth. A glimpse of the spread of truth during the last days is given in the tenth chapter. Rev. 14:6-12 is a further development of the message given by the mighty angel which came down from heaven, and stood upon the earth with an open book of prophecy in his hand. This angel proclaimed that time should be no more, and the prophetic time to which he referred was the twenty-three hundred days of Daniel 8;14. The message was given between 1833 and 1844. When the twenty-three hundred days closed in 1844, Christ entered the second apartment of the heavenly sanctuary. When this change was about to take place in heaven, God commissioned an angel to fly earthward with a message to mankind that would prepare the human heart for the closing work on the earth. The angel flew in the midst of heaven, that the divine word which he brought might be heard by all the world; for the message was universal. he carried the everlasting Gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people". Seer of Patmos, Steven N. Haskell
There are more than a few who believe that Matthew 28 is the message to be given for today.
They are partly true, because that message is one that brings the believers into one fold. That message is a two fold message, however, one part seems to be missing. The baptising is always presented, but the teaching part seems to be missed. Don't get me wrong, that's just my observation. Let's look at that verse.
Matt. 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
Teach all nations. Teach them what? Teach them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Yes, baptise them, but also, teach them. Teach them to "fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters".
We are now living in the last hours of earths history. It is time for us to get our lives, and character together, because the soon coming of Jesus is very near, even at the door, Amen?
Amen.
Next post we will look at verse 7.
Have a blessed day in the Lord.
